How do ToeGrips (nail grips for dogs) work?
Diagram of a dog's nail wearing a ToeGrip and showing how the non-slip grip makes contact with the floor to create a Grip ZoneDogs use their toenails for traction. They flex their paws and engage their nails like soccer cleats digging into the ground. But hard nails can’t grip hard floors. ToeGrips are nail grips for dogs that work by allowing the toenails to grip smooth surfaces like hardwood floors.
Unlike dog socks and boots, which interfere with a dog’s paw and toenails (natural gripping mechanisms), ToeGrips create a Grip Zone™ that works with your dog’s innate biomechanics. The Grip Zone™ allows the the toenails to meet the floor for traction with every step…naturally.
The non-slip nail grips fit onto your dog’s toenails to enable instant traction on hard-surface floors and stairs.
Once placed on the toenails, ToeGrips are made for indoor/outdoor use, can be worn constantly, and typically need to be replaced every one to three months.

How to measure your dog’s nails for ToeGrips & select the right size for your dog -
Step 1: Wrap a piece of dental floss around the middle of the toenail.
Step 2: While holding the floss around the nail circumference with one hand, use a fine point Sharpie® to mark across both pieces of floss. This will create two points.
Step 3: Stretch the floss and measure the distance between the two points in millimeters.
Step 4: Repeat for all 4 nails on one front paw and one hind paw (not the dewclaw).
Step 5: Based on the measurements obtained (not the average), use the chart below to find your dog's size. Sometimes a dog will require a combination of two sizes.
